PARTITION LOGIC USER MANUAL

CREATING A NEW PARTITION

Create ('New') button
Create ('New') Partition menu item

The create function is used to make a new partition.  To create a new partition you must first select some empty space in either the partition diagram or the partition list (when the selected item is not empty space, this function is disabled).  Clicking this button or menu item raises a dialog window to prompt you for information (location, size (which can be in cylinders, sectors, or megabytes), tag, etc.) about the partition you want to create.  No changes are made on disk until you commit them using the write changes button.  Creating a partition does not automatically create a filesystem on the partition; first write your changes and then use the format function to create the filesystem.
